Simon Hopkins

Finance Director

Simon Hopkins - British Heart FoundationSimon joined the BHF in January 2010. His role encompasses responsibility for the charity’s finances as well as related disciplines covering planning, risk and evaluation of the organisation’s work.

Prior to joining the BHF he held finance director positions in both the private and public sector. His career to date has spanned central government, financial services and outsourcing, and has involved areas ranging from traditional finance and planning to business development, contract compliance and service management.

Simon has a degree in Law from Corpus Christi College, Oxford and qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG in London.

Simon attends Board of Trustee and Council meetings and Audit Committee and is an ex-officio member of Investment and Retail committees. He is also chair of the BHF staff pension scheme. Outside BHF he is also a trustee of Action on Smoking and Health (ASH).

He is married with two sons and enjoys playing tennis, creative writing and performing classic rock music.
