This fascinating trek is a step back in time to an area where ancient tradition still guides people’s lives and where nature is wild.

An inspiring, humbling, amazing experience, made more worthwhile by the fact that we made a significant contribution to BHF's work

The trek takes place in Romania’s famed Transylvanian Alps in a small region of the country, rich in tradition and myths.

Highlights include making contact with locals, sleeping in small mountain villages, tasting traditional food, and at the same time trekking in two of the highest mountain ranges of Romania.

During this challenging but rewarding adventure you will discover the Bucegi Mountains that are rich in heathen mythological symbols and Piatra Craiului ‘The King’s Rock’ National Park that is home to wolves, lynx and bears.

You will also have the opportunity to visit the infamous and beautiful 14th century Romanian icon, Dracula’s Castle, fabulously renovated by the Romanian royal family.
