Read Red for Heart fundraising stories
Every year we receive stories from supporters
across the UK who have got involved in Red for Heart and
raised vital funds so we can continue our life-saving work. We hope
you find them as inspiring as we do.

“We raised £428.30 for our Red for Heart
event which was held in memory of my wife Dawn Richardson who sadly
passed away in 2008. Our event was named Red Day For Dawn and was
held at my house in Grantham. Everyone that attended paid a
£1 entry fee to enter our house and we had a large raffle that
people kindly donated.”
Ian, Lincolnshire

"Red is our company colour and we love to have fun raising money
for charity. Everyone at Red Gate wore red and we gave a strawberry
cake (especially made by our resident chef) as a prize for the best
outfit. We’re used to getting a free lunch every day so we donated
to the BHF at lunchtime and raised over £250. We had a great day
and are looking forward to next year when we hope to raise even
more!"
Alice, Red Gate Software Ltd
“All the girls at St Albans High School were a part
of Red for Heart and wore red to show their support for the
BHF. There were more red outfits on show than at a Manchester
United home game! We held a coffee morning with a variety of cakes,
all homemade and with red hearts. A total of £220 was raised –
simply incredible!”
Ian, Head of Sixth Form, St Albans High School for
Girls
"Our team at OCR Coventry chose to support the
British Heart Foundation’s Wear Red Day this year as it coincided
with my return to work following heart surgery to repair a leaky
mitral valve. The team leapt at the idea and organised a dress-down
day, a cake bake, quiz and a raffle. The office raised a grand
total of £932 and had a lot of fun in the process!"
