Cardiac equipment grants
Hospitals can apply for grants for equipment such as
monitors, ECG machines, echo machines, event recorders and
multi-channel recorders.
Hospital NHS trusts are expected to contribute funds
towards the equipment where possible and assist us in
fundraising and promotional activities.
Portable ultrasound scanners
The availability of portable, hand-held imaging
devices will help avoid unnecessary and expensive full
examination, excess patient travel and ultimately reduce hospital
waiting times.
We support evidence that the swift and accurate diagnosis of
heart failure can lead to more appropriate treatment and patient
support. Our portable ultrasound initiative aims to:
- improve availability and access to echocardiography services in
the community
- promote a wider use of scanners by utilising the skills of
trained echo-technicians for relevant and rapid patient
screening.
