Giving reassurance in Darlington
This busy North East Heart Support Group has
been running since 1992 and has a mixed membership of over 100
heart patients and carers.
Darlington Coronary Heart Support Group
organises plenty of activities each month including relaxing
yoga and tai chi classes, walks and socials. Members also get
to put their art skills to the test in an informal and fun art
class.
The BHF's free public liability insurance means we can carry out our exercise classes with piece of mind.
Members of the group
understand that newly diagnosed heart patients need support and
reassurance: that’s why some of the group’s members visit
the local sports complex once a month to meet new cardiac
rehab patients and take a brisk walk around the
running track. It’s also a good way to spread the word
about the Heart Support Group and encourage people to join.
