Questions - Making a donation

I’ve made a donation and want to check that you’ve received it

Thank you for your generosity. Your donation helps us continue our life-saving work.

Please Contact Us. To help us respond to as quickly as possible, please make sure to include:

  • Your full name and address
  • Date the donation was made
  • How the donation was made (e.g. online, by post, phone, sponsoring an event, at a BHF Shop)
  • Amount
  • The postal address that the donation was sent to.
Any other information about the donation that might be useful.

If the donation was made in memory of a loved one please include the deceased’s name, and the next of kin details, if these were given when the donation was made.

If the donation was made to celebrate an occasion please include the name of the celebrant, and the type of occasion, if these were given when the donation was made.

I don't want to make a donation online. Are there other ways that I can donate to the BHF?

If you are donating by cheque, please send it to the following address:

The British Heart Foundation
Greater London House
180 Hampstead Road
London
NW1 7AW

Please include a brief letter explaining how the money was raised, together with your name and address details, so that we can send you a thank you letter and receipt.

You can also donate over the phone by calling the BHF donations hotline on 0300 330 3322. This line is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

If you are a UK tax payer, don’t forget to Gift Aid your donation. This can make every £1 you give worth up to 25p more – at no extra cost to you! We can reclaim from Government the tax you have paid on your donation so your donation can go even further to fighting heart disease. All you have to do is complete a Gift Aid declaration.

Will you send a receipt or thank you letter if I send you a donation?

We like to send all our supporters a thank you letter providing we have their name and address details. If you would prefer not to receive a letter from us, please include a brief note with your donation

If you have raised the money through an activity, or in a group, we can also send a certificate to thank everyone who was involved. Please mention that you would like a certificate when making your donation, and we will send one out.

How do I donate to a BHF Shop?

We'd love to hear from you if you have items to donate to one of our shops. Your local BHF Shop can help arrange a collection for you.

To locate your nearest BHF shop and their telephone number, go to the Our Shops section of the site.

  • Click on 'Find your nearest BHF shop' and enter your postcode
  • Under 'Select type of service' tick the BHF shops option or the ‘Furniture & Electrical Store’ option depending on what you would like to donate.
  • Press 'Search' and a list of shops will appear.
