Seasonal differences
The cold weather can potentially affect the heart.
In 2007/08, almost 9,000 more people died of cardiovascular
disease (CVD) in the winter months compared to the summer
months. This amounts to 16 per cent more male deaths and 17 per
cent more female deaths.
