Obesity
If you're overweight or
obese, you have a higher risk of developing coronary heart
disease.
Keeping to a healthy weight and body shape can help
protect you against diabetes and high blood
pressure, as well as lower your cholesterol.
In England, around 67 per
cent of men and 60 per cent of women are
overweight or obese.
There is little difference in the number of men who are
overweight or obese in each region of
England. The highest number was found in the South West and
North West and the lowest in London.
The number of women who are overweight or obese is lower than
the number of men, the highest number is in East and West Midlands
and the lowest in London.
