How to donate goods

donate

There are a number of convenient and easy ways to donate to our shops:

  • Drop off your unwanted items at your local BHF shop.
  • Book a free collection online for unwanted furniture or electrical items. Please check our list of items we can't accept before you donate though.
  • Take your donations to a BHF Book Bank or Clothing Bank. We have over 500 book and clothing banks in the community. Simply put your clean, good quality items into a plastic bag and drop them into one of the banks near you.
  • Our Furniture and Electrical stores offer a house clearance service - contact your nearest store for a free quotation.
  • Our shops regularly run household appeals. We post a BHF donation bag through your door and collect it from you a day or so later. Simply fill a bag, leave it on your doorstep on the designated day and we’ll pick it up.

And please remember when you make donations, add extra value to them with Gift Aid!

Who's collecting your charity donations?

All of our doorstep collections are carried out by clearly identified vans and drivers, and all donations go directly to the British Heart Foundation.

Householders need to beware of how they make donations of second-hand goods to their chosen charity, as they could potentially be lining the pockets of commercial collectors. Sometimes as little as 4.5% of the income from a doorstep collection carried out by a commercial company is paid to the charity.
